Facebook Page OptimizationMany companies, big and small, pour A LOT of time, money and effort into Facebook but fail to do one very important and fairly simple thing … optimize their actual Facebook page.

Neil Patel spends a lot of time analyzing the performance of his Facebook, and because of this, he is able to generate (so he claims) 195,013 visitors a month form Facebook without spending a dollar in ads. He attributes a lot of this success to having an optimized Facebook page.

I’ll often get questions about improving a Facebook marketing strategy. But, most of the time, it’s not even the marketing that’s the problem––it’s your page.

In most cases, your [Facebook] page will be how someone comes across your company on Facebook. Consider your page to be a brand representative.

That’s why it’s so crucial that you optimize your page for maximum engagement. You want users to be hooked from start to finish.

In his post, he details the 3 areas he focuses on to improve his Facebook page; things each of us can and should be doing …

1. Select an awesome cover photo because it’s the first thing people see when they visit your Facebook page. The photos should:

  • Be visually appealing
  • Promote a clear message
  • Appeal to visitors’ emotions
  • Tie in your brand or a specific product in some way
  • Have an objective – stating your mission, promoting a product/service

2.  An about page that is relevant with helpful information.

When people are on Facebook and want to find any information about your company, your page’s About section is most likely where they’ll go.

3. Eye-catching sidebar tabs.

Facebook allows you to make custom tabs that give your page a unique twist.

You can use these tabs to get people to sign up for your email list, enter a contest, and almost anything else you can think of.

If you need the details on how execute any of his suggestions, please visit his post What Should You Put in Each Section of Your Facebook Page for Maximum Engagement? over at neilpatel.com.
